Christmas Tree Lot Moves to Warrenton Horse Show Grounds — Opens Nov. 21

The Warrenton Boy Scouts Christmas Tree Lot has a new home! After years in the Costello’s Ace Hardware of Warrenton parking lot, the lot is moving to the Warrenton Horse Show Grounds for the 2026 season.

Troop 180 is one of the five Warrenton troops that run the lot — a hometown tradition since 1961.

Opening weekend

  • Saturday, November 21: 11 AM–8 PM
  • Sunday, November 22: 9 AM–7 PM

The lot reopens on Black Friday (November 27) and stays open through December 23 — or until the trees sell out. In past years the lot has closed a few days early once the trees were gone, so come early for the best selection!

Thank you to the Warrenton Horse Show Association for welcoming us, and to everyone who supports Warrenton scouting by buying a tree. See you at the Horse Show Grounds!

Troop 180

Welcome to Troop 180!  If you are looking for a boy scout troop, we welcome you to troop 180, Warrenton, VA. If you are looking for a new church home, you might want to check out our home church, Our Saviour Lutheran Church! Our troop belongs to  the Piedmont district of the National Capital Area Council. If you would like to know more about the scouting program and how you can contribute to its continued success, please visit the national scouting website.

The troop is almost 40 years old and has turned out a steady stream of Eagle Scouts throughout our history. Our Troop meets every Monday night from 7:30 to 8:30. We have very friendly Leaders and Scouts. We have scouts who attend public and private schools, and many that are home schooled. Boys that are interested in joining our troop, or just interested in knowing more about scouting, are welcome to drop in on our meetings at any time.

The Troop has an active outdoor program with at least one camp out a month, except in December. Camp outs have a wide variety of themes that are determined by the boys in our troop and have included backpacking, canoeing trips, white water rafting, rappelling, fishing, biking and skiing. All scouts can attend a week long summer camp that is scheduled in June or July of each year, and scouts that satisfy certain rank and age requirements can also attend a high adventure camp in July.

The troop has been on high Adventure trips to Lenhock’sin High Adventure Trail at Goshen, VA, High Knoll Trail in the Blue Ridge Mountain District, Philmont High Adventure in New Mexico, Adirondak Canoe Adventure, Florida Sea Base, Northern Tier High Adventure the Kandersteg International Scout center in Switzerland, Sea base in North Carolina, and the Matagamon Scout Base in Maine.
